What a Date!

Today is the 9th Anniversary of the day I met Ben and 9-9-09!!! IF that isn't lucky, I don't know what is.

I remember our first date very well. It started out not so good. I got stuck in construction traffic on the I-10 and ended up getting to Ben's house late. Ben's sister-inlaw Debbie set up our blind date. When I arrived, she was very relieved. She thought that I just stood them all up. We then headed out the door to dinner at Hunter's Steakhouse at Metro Center. Dinner was quiet. It was then I learned that Ben doesn't talk very much and neither does his brother Lee. So Debbie and I just chit chatted since it was a little too awkward during the silence. After dinner, we went to Castles N Coasters to play some miniature golf, video games and ride the rides. We all played a round of miniature golf and had a great time. After that, we ditched Lee and Debbie for the rides. We had a good time. We road the log ride atleast 3 times in a row...I would sit in the front and slide forward so that I wouldn't get wet....Ben finally caught on to that and decided he wanted to sit in the front so that he didn't get wet anymore. Lee and Debbie finally found us, by this time, I was really comfortable and chit chatty. I think Ben was holding my hand by this point in the night. We then headed back to Ben's parents house and sat by the pool and chit chatted some more. I was being a brat and was splashing everyone and flirting with Ben. Debbie was getting sick of getting wet and told Ben that she'd pay him $5 to throw me in the pool. She pulled out the money and Ben grabbed it. I was to my feet in an instant. He approached and grabbed me, it was then that I ducked out of his arms and pushed him in the pool. It was pretty funny. Ben got out of the pool and gave me the $5 and said "you deserve this." I laughed. Lee and Debbie went inside to go grab a couple towels...When they came back, I was all wet from Ben giving me a big bear hug. It was then that Lee and Debbie excused themselves for the night. We sat out back by the pool for another few hours (2 am). Before I left, Ben kissed me. He stopped, smiled, and looked into my eyes and told me "YOu don't kiss like a mormon girl". I asked him if that was a good thing, he replied yes, and I told him to be quiet and kiss me again. We have been together ever since. There have been rough times, but we have made it through!

Happy 9th Anniversary Baby!!! I love you!!
